In fact, in San Francisco, the cost of living is 38 percent more than the CA state average and 94 percent more than the national average. Housing alone is 242.3 percent higher than the national average. The average monthly rent for an apartment with one bedroom is up 4 percent more than last year at $3,554 and 10 percent higher for a two-bedroom apartment at $5,007.
San Francisco Cost of Living Compared to Denver
