Compare the campus setting with your routine
A campus in a dense city neighborhood creates different daily questions from one in a suburban setting. Consider the commute, nearby errands, transit options, parking, campus housing, and whether you need a car for work or school.
If you are moving from outside the region, make a short list of the places you will visit every week and test those routes before choosing a neighborhood.
Ask housing questions early
Student housing, shared rentals, family housing, and private apartments each create a different move. Find out who controls the move-in appointment, whether an elevator or loading area must be reserved, and what furniture is already provided.
For shared housing, label boxes by room and roommate. For furnished housing, confirm what is included so you do not transport items the new space already has.
Build a student move inventory
